Being without a point of view in this world will leave one at the mercy of what has been preselected and manufactured. Every composer today has a duty to provide society with a new perspective among the mass of musical products. This does not mean popular music is terrible, but it does mean most popular music is produced for profit, absent of artistic value. New art music always has its place. However, this place continues to shrink as the zeitgeist changes to infuse technology in ever aspect of life. At this point, my goal is to paint pictures in the air with subtle colors, vibrant flashes of light, organic shapes, shards, motion, energy, sadness, and joy through sound. All while trying to relate to this hard-to-reach audience. Perhaps technology is the answer.
